The Mask
Jul 13, 2022
Told us to wear masks,
Will protect us from invisible enemy.
Little did they know,
We’ve been wearing it forever.
Real faces were revealed,
Little too late I believe.
Nonetheless, a mirror was shown,
And got hit with reality.
Masks that we wore forever,
Hid our realselves from others.
Baggage we carry within,
Was now out in the open.
Mask hid our faces,
Not thoughts and emotions.
Witnessed kindness and empathy,
Along with cruelty and apathy.
This facade will continue forever.
But ask yourselves this,
Will you be content,
By wearing a mask that isn’t yours?
